Sew Much Ado Ruby Lou Doll AND Pattern GUEST GIVEAWAY!!!!

Sew Much Ado Ruby Lou Doll AND Pattern GUEST GIVEAWAY!!!!

In October of 2009 my friend MaryAnn sent me a link to these super cute child's masks that were made out of felt. It was called a "tutorial" and I immediately decided that I needed to make some for my kids and niece. I had never heard of a tutorial, but this looked pretty easy.

This was the first day of what would turn into an obsession for me. I've even started a Google Alert for "sewing tutorials" so that each time a new tutorial is posted on the web it gets plunked into my inbox and I can pick and choose the ones I'd like to try. I managed to have a nearly 100% homemade Christmas because of the tutorials I found.

The Google Alert also clues my into web contests that fellow crafters are holding on their websites and blogs to give you a chance to win some really awesome homemade things. Hence the title of this post!

I continue to be amazed at the amount of tutorials that are on the web, and as a relatively novice crafter and "seamstress" these tutorials are usually very easy to follow because they are created for people like me by others who can explain how to do things in simple terms. Rarely do I come across a tutorial that is difficult to understand unlike some of the patterns you get in the stores.

During this journey I have also come across some great blogs that are amazing resources for tips, tricks, tutorials, and just "hey, come see what I created". The amount of creativity I see is astounding and I hope once I get better at crafting, especially with my sewing machine, that I can begin to create my own tutorials to post. Currently some of my favorite resources for online sewing and crafting is Grosgrain Fabulous , Sew Mama, Sew , and Craft Gossip . I highly suggest you visit these sites and take a look at what is out there.
